Gas + Magnetic basically cancels out the robot bonus (-50% + 50%) but keeps the additional shield and armor effectiveness. But the armor effectiveness is less powerful than the one provided by Blast + Corrosive.

I dont like to make flat out statements, but compared to other damage types, corrosive just takes the cake. I can give examples from all three enemy factions. Grineer are the obvious choices for corrosive damage, as the are primarily armor based.
